Art Teacher Receives Prestigious Statewide Art Education Award

Groveport Madison Schools is proud to celebrate one of our own, Danae Sperk, who has been named the 2025 Outstanding Art Teacher for our region by the Ohio Art Education Association (OAEA). This distinguished honor recognizes Sperk's unwavering commitment to visual arts education and positive impact on art students across our community and region.
Selected from a group of nearly 2,000 art educators statewide, Sperk stood out for her dedication to nurturing creativity, inspiring students, and advocating the arts as a vital part of education. The OAEA commended her leadership and contributions, noting that educators like Sperk help ensure the future of the arts in Ohio remains vibrant and strong.
Danae will receive the award at the formal presentation at the OAEA State Conference on Thursday, Nov. 13, 2025, in Columbus. The evening's celebration will honor outstanding educators from across the state.
As Maria Shriver once said, "Art is fundamental, unique to each of us… even in difficult economic times—especially in difficult economic times—the arts are essential." Danae embodies this spirit, bringing creativity, resilience, and inspiration to the classroom every day.
