Ohio Model UN

The Ohio Model United Nations (OMUN) program at Groveport Madison High School offers students a unique opportunity to explore global issues, develop public speaking and diplomacy skills, and engage in real-world problem solving through a dynamic, student-led simulation of the United Nations.

Each year, students represent countries from around the world, researching their histories, cultures, and international policies in preparation for the annual OMUN conference held in Columbus. Participants write resolutions to address global challenges, debate ideas with peers from across Ohio, and work together to promote cooperation and peace—just like real delegates in the UN.

What Students Gain from OMUN:

  • A deeper understanding of international relations and world affairs

  • Stronger public speaking, research, and writing skills

  • Confidence in leadership, negotiation, and collaboration

  • The experience of representing their school on a statewide stage

  • Lifelong skills in diplomacy, critical thinking, and civic engagement

Whether you’re passionate about politics, human rights, the environment, or global cultures, OMUN is an exciting and rewarding way to expand your perspective and make your voice heard.
